George Neece, 63, Grand Junction, died June 30, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Martin Mortuary. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Orchard Mesa Cemetery. He was owner and operator of Neece Concrete. He is survived by his wife, Marilee A.; three sons, Ron, Justin and Jason, all of Grand Junction; one brother, Ray of Grand Junction; two sisters, Starlieth Jimenez and Judy Finchum, both of Grand Junction; and eight grandchildren.

“Life is short, you blink and it’s gone.” George was born in Fairland, Oklahoma and moved as a young boy with his family to Grand Junction. He lived and worked in the Grand Valley the rest of his life. George worked in the concrete construction trade and operated his own company. He had many projects in the Grand Valley that showcased his good work and skills. He was a hard worker and treated all his customers with honesty and as a friend. He was a friend to all who knew him and would be there whenever anyone needed help. He taught his boys and grandchildren how to work on cars, do concrete, build, and many other skills. He taught them to do a good job no matter what it was. His greatest pleasure was his family. He loved spending time with all of them. Spending Christmas Eve at his home was a family tradition with all his children and grandchildren, and whomever else wanted to join in, coming together to open presents. It was a joyous time for all. Many memories were made for all to cherish. He loved the outdoors and passed that on to all his boys. He made each and everyone feel special. Clearing the path for George was his son, Jeremiah Neece; father and mother, Orville and Geneva Neece; brothers, Barney Gannon and Joe Neece, and sisters, Sondra Neece and Brenda Neece Archer. George is survived by his loving family, wife, Marilee Neece; sons Ron (Kerry) Neece, Justin Neece, and Jason (Dacia) Neece; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Allen, Elysha, Nichole, Ryan, Austin, Tyler and Trevor; sisters, Starlieth (Robert) Jimenez, and Judy (Mack) Finchum; brother, Ray (Colleen) Neece, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday evening, July 6 from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary, 550 North Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81501. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Martin Mortuary with interment at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery following services.
