DAN ROSS DIES.

Dan Ross, a resident of Eagle county for more than 30 years, 26 years of which were spent in Min turn and on a ranch on Gore creek, died at the Gilman hospital, Saturday, June 1945, after anly three or four days illness. Mr. Ross had been working for Frank Newcomer on Brush creek when he was taken ill one day last week, and taken to the hospital. There he lived but two days, when he passed away. Daniel Wilmot Ross was born in QarVton county, New Brunswick; Canada, Sept. 26, 1868. In the early days of Leadville he came to that mining camp. Later he lived on the Frying Pan river, where he mar-, ried Miss Ida May Hennings. Five children were born to this union, four of whom preceded him in death He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John E. Kierulff, of Billings, Mont., who was present for the funetal. A brother, W. L. Ross, of Vancouver, B. C., also survives. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. W. Bartrug of Eagle, were held in Minturn Monday afternoon, and the body was taken to Leadville for burial.
