COUNTY DEATH ADD TO STATE TOLL
The death of two Eagle County men Tuesday afternoon raised the Colorado traffic fatality list to 173.
Ben Vigil, 21, and Bernie Roybal 19, of Minturn did when their car driven by Vigil failed to make a turn on US Highway 24 four miles east of Minturn on Battle Mountain and plunged 60 feet over the cliff. The two had been roprted earlier in the day for "drag racing" on Red Cliff end of Battle Mountain. ...........
Vigil was the son of Mrs. Domelita Vigil and the late Joe Vigil of Red Cliff. He was home on a 30 day leave from the Marine Corps. and due to return to Camp Pendleton. Military Internment will be in Salida.
Bernie Roybal was the son of Mr. and Mrs Roybal of Minturn. Funeral Mass will be at 10am Saturday and burial in Minturn.
