Phillip Scheerer of Gilman Succumbs to Pneumonia After Short Illness

Scheerer was born in Colorado Springs, Colo ., October 6 th \, 1878. Three years later with his parents , they moved to Taylor hill , Eagle county , in which county he has since resided. Mr . Scjeerer contracted a severe cold some five or six weeks ago , which at first he gave little heed , but finally it began tb . tell on him , and era laet Wednesday he , . _was confined to his bed . From that time he grew rapidly worse until last _Tuesday about 1 o clock , ho breathed his last. Word was sent to his father and sister who reside at Carbonclale . His sister , Mrs . James Kane , came up on Tuesday , arriving at the bedside a few minutes after her brother had breathed his last . Owing to the advanced age and enfeebled
condition of his father it was decided best for him to remain at home . His brother , W . F . Sehoorer , is also here having arrived yesterday . There is another brother residing in Cannanna, Old Mexico, who is expected to come if he can be reached in time by wire . The funeral services will be held in the Red Cliff opera house on Sunday forenoon , and will be in charge of Undertaker Graham and conducted by tho Oilman lodge, A. O. U. W., of which he was an honorary member . The interment will be in the Knights of Pythias plot ground , in the Evergreen cemetery at Leadville, beside his mother who is buried at that place , A special train on the Denvver & Rio Grande will be chartered for tho solemn occasion , thus giving his numerous friends an opportunity to witness tho last sad rites .
