Daniel G. “Smokey” Smith, 71, Grand Junction, died June 8, 2018, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Services will take place at 3 p.m. June 18 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Laura; one son, Clint of Frasier; two daughters, Misty Murphy of Parker and Karen Albert of Omaha, Nebraska; two brothers, Brett Perkins and Tony Perkins, both of Grand Junction; one sister, Cindie Dean of Ogden, Utah; and five grandchildren.
