GUST SCHLUTTER ANSWERS LAST LONG ROLL CALL
Another old time resident of the county passed away the past week when Gust Schlutter died at the home of his son , Will Schlutter on Brush creek , Thursday , July 23 . The deceased had been in extremely poor health for the past year , and a few weeks ago was taken to a Denver hospital , where the treatment received seemed to greatly help him , and his return home was apparently improving , when on the Sunday precedinhis death he commenced ff to fail , and continued to sink until Thursday when death came . Mr . Schratter came to Gypsum valley 36 years ago , where he lived an active , useful life until his retirement a few years ago , and had made his home with his son for the past fifteen yars . Gust Schlutter was a good citizen , and a neighbor trusted and admired by everyone with , whom he came in contact . Born in Brownsville , Minn ., August 24 , 1864 , he moved with his parents to La Cross , Wis ., when but a child . Here he grew to manhood and married , living , there until 1906 . when he moved to Gypsum valley with his family .
Funeral services , . attended by many old friends and neighbors ,, were held from the Andre Mortuary in Eagle on Sunday afternoon , and the body laid to rest in Cedar Hill cemetery at Gypsum . Mrs . Iva Dodo , accompanied by her mother , Mrs . Casper Schumm , of Glenwaad were in Eagle Wednesday , and stopped in this office to pay the editor a pleasant call . They were accompanied by Miss Kate Schumm of Joliet , HI ., who is visiting in Glenwood and Gypsum , and Mrs . Mae Dumphy and Mrs . George Pretti of Glenwood .
