Doris June Allen, 78, Grand Junction, died July 11, 2018, at her home. Services will be at 2 p.m. July 21 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. She was a homemaker. Survivors include one son, Mark of Roswell, New Mexico; two daughters, Shannon West and Tammy Allen, both of Grand Junction; three brothers, Lesley Mace of California and Harlan Mace and Elvis Ream, both of Colorado; five sisters, Donna Dennington, Linda Mace and Rebecca Wayne, all of New Mexico, and Debra Pursley and Delta Demain, both of Colorado; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions to Marquis Miracle Foundation, in care of Tiara Rado Animal Hospital, 2245¾ Broadway, Grand Junction 81507.

Doris June Allen, 78, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away in her home, finally succumbing to her battle with leukemia, on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. She was born May 11, 1940, in Gallup, NM, to Wesley Adam Mace and Mae Avalin Ledford, the second of 11 children. She married Bill Allen, and they had three children. She felt her biggest achievement was her children. Our matriarch-she was a grandma to all; this included her own nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was ornery, everybody’s blonde-haired darling. She did exactly what she wanted to do, her own way, and with determination. Doris was the touchstone of the family and our anchor. She loved being in her garden, was fiercely loyal to her loved ones, and was always working, cleaning, fixing, and caretaking. She is survived by Bill Allen of Roswell, NM; children, Shannon West of Grand Junction, CO; Mark Allen of Roswell, NM, and Tammy Allen of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Michael Nash of Kenai, Alaska; Shad Knowlton (Brandi) of Grand Junction, CO; Kasey Rivera (Sam) of Grand Junction, CO; Ashleigh Allen of Delta, CO; Misty Casey (Jace) of Grand Junction, CO; Caleb West of Grand Junction, CO; Quinton Allen of Roswell, NM, and Skylar Baldwin of Grand Junction, CO; great-grandchildren, Shelbey Kerrigan of Grand Junction, CO; Desiraye Gallegos of Grand Junction, CO; Slade Gallegos of Grand Junction, CO; Quinton Allen, Jr. of Roswell, NM; Lola Allen of Roswell, NM; Everly June Casey of Grand Junction, CO, and Gya Rivera of Grand Junction, CO; siblings, Donna Dennington (Kenneth) of Farmington, NM; Harlan Mace of Arboles, CO; Lesley Mace (Laurie) of Los Ojos, CA; Linda Mace of Farmington, NM; Debra Pursley of Aztec, NM; Rebecca Wayne of Farmington, NM; Elvis Ream of Ignacio, CO, and Delta Demain of Durango, CO; many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and her darling doggies, Lily, Buddy, and Layla. She is preceded in death by grandson, Landon; sisters, Dolores and Nancy; mother, Mae Ledford, and father, Wesley Adam Mace. Services will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Saturday, July 21 at 2:00 p.m. at 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction, CO 81505. Memorial donations should be made to the Marquis Miracle Foundation at any Alpine Bank location or by cash or check to Tiara Rado Animal Hospital, 2245 3/4 Broadway, Grand Junction, CO 81507. We would like to thank everyone at Grand Valley Oncology for taking such wonderful care of her during her fight. What a woman!
