FALL FATAL TO GYPSUM WOMAN
A 49 year old Gypsum woman fell to her death in Deep Creek Canyon Tuesday afternoon as she was attempting to retrieve a child's hat. Eagle County underscheriff Dale Williams identified the woman as Doris Schwartz. According tp Williams, Mrs Schwartz was sight-seeing in the area with friends when the child in the party lost a hat over the guardrail. Mrs. Schwartz started across a snowfield, slipped and slid over the edge, falling an estimated 600-700 feet. She died immediately. Another group of tourist in the area helped the family call for help via CB radio.
