Vivian Johanna Martinez, 77, Grand Junction, died June 13, 2018, at the Mesa Manor Care Center. No services are planned. She was a banquet waitress. Survivors include one son, Wayne Welch of Seattle; three daughters, Cathy Dorland and Carolyn Cliffton, both of Grand Junction, and June Dietz of Castle Rock; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Vivian Johanna Martinez August 9, 1940 - June 13, 2018
Vivian Johanna Martinez, 77, passed away on June 13, 2018, at Mesa Manor Center. Vivian was born to Gordon and Lillian (Waterman) Welch on August 9, 1940, in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Her family later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Vivian spent her childhood. She married David Smith, and was later remarried to Luther Martinez. They later divorced. She was a devoted mother to four children, and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and crafts. Vivian is survived by her son, Wayne Welch, of Seattle, Washington; daughters, Cathy (Tim) Dorland and Carolyn Cliffton, of Grand Junction, and June (Eric) Dietz, of Castle Rock; eight grandchildren, Aaron and Ethan Dorland, William Cliffton, Christina Jerome, Chelsea and Dylan Martin, and Morgan and Danny Dietz; and nine great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, and her brother, Douglas Welch. Private family services will be held.
