Grand Junction Daily Sentinel page 3D Obituary - July 22, 2018

Otis was born on October 3, 1920, in Lorane, Oregon, to Ralph and Ethel Lynch. He joined the Navy right out of high school and served for four years aboard the USS Indianapolis in the Pacific during WWII. Otis retired from the Williams Company in 1983. He married Mary Lou Putnam on July 10, 1945, in San Diego, CA. This year would have been their 73rd wedding anniversary. She was the love of his life and he never quite recovered from her death just one year ago. He was the father to Mike Lynch (Merrilyn) of Smithfield, UT; Dennis Lynch (Johnnye) of Grand Junction, CO; Julie Weaver (deceased); Kim Suplizio (Sam) of Grand Junction, CO, and Jeff Lynch of West Jordan, UT. He has ten grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and three great-greatgrandchildren. When Otis retired, he and Mary Lou bought a motorhome and lived on the road for many years. He often referred to this time in his life as "the best years." He was a hard worker and dedicated to providing for his family. If he gave his word, you could count on it 100% of the time; a very honest, respected, and honorable man. Near the end of his life he would often say as we walked out the door, "I love you four." This put a smile on his face and sometimes even a slight giggle. We love you Dad, you will be missed, and we will carry "Family First" with us forever. Family and friends will gather to pay their respects and to honor his life on July 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, CO. In lieu of flowers or money, please make a donation, in his name, to HopeWest, 3090B N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO, 81506, or at www.hopewestco.org.
