Deloris P. Simpson, 83, Grand Junction, died July 23, 2018, at Eagle Ridge of Grand Valley. No services are planned. She worked in The Daily Sentinel business office for 38 years. Survivors include four sons, Stewart David and Joel Edward, both of Grand Junction and Clark Evan and Kenneth Wayne, both of Clifton; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Deloris Simpson passed away July 23, 2018, at the Eagle Ridge of Grand Valley Care Center; she was 83. Deloris was born on January 19, 1935, in Drumright, Oklahoma from the union of Leonard and Florence Phillips and spent her childhood on the family farm in Oklahoma. She graduated from El Paso High School and later attended Mesa College, studying Physics. On May 20, 1953 she married Eugene Willis Simpson in Las Cruces, New Mexico after meeting him through a business association with her father. He preceded Deloris in death in 1998. Deloris was a Grand Junction area resident since 1959, formerly living in Hanford, Washington, Carlsbad and Roswell, New Mexico. She worked in real estate helping people obtain property and later in the office of The Daily Sentinel Newspaper for 38 years before retiring. She had deep lifelong interest in Metaphysics, Astrology and Numerology. Deloris was a caring soul who was always helping people and animals. She leaves behind four sons, Stewart David Simpson of Grand Junction, Colorado; Clark Evan Simpson and Kenneth Wayne Simpson of Clifton, Colorado, and Joel Edward Simpson of Grand Junction, Colorado; grandchildren, June, Garth and Simone; five great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren, and the family pet, Paco.
