Jeffrey A. Martinez was born to Gilbert and Eufemia (Sanchez) Martinez on February 8, 1966, in Fruita, CO. He died at home surrounded by his family. He battled liver disease for two years. He attended schools in the Grand Junction area. He was a wrestler for West Middle School. Jeffrey was known as a "jack of all trades", every job he tackled, he was known as a quick learner and worker. He had several jobs in his life, but he particularly enjoyed working for O.C. Tanner as a stone-setter, setting precious stones into fine jewelry in Salt Lake City, where he met his wife, Becky. On November 24, 2010, he married Becky (Short) Martinez, his loving wife, in Sandy, UT. They were together for 18 years. Jeffrey has two daughters, Moriah and Sophia. He was very proud of the young ladies that they’ve become. He enjoyed dancing, music of all kinds, bowling, and swimming. He enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, and watching one of his favorite classic tv shows, "The Andy Griffith Show." Jeffrey had special abilities in art; he loved to draw, and was very talented. He was also a big Denver Bronco fan!! Jeffrey had a very kind heart and friendly soul, with extra compassion for the disabled and special needs individuals; always wanting to put a smile on their faces. Above all, he loved and adored his family. Jeffrey’s beautiful smile and personality will be greatly missed by all. Together Becky and Jeffrey shared a loving fur baby, their dog, "Murphy Martinez". In addition to his mother and wife, Jeffrey is survived by his daughters, Moriah Aragon, Salt Lake City, and Sophia Martinez of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Ken Martinez and Timothy Martinez of Grand Junction; sisters, Lorey Sanchez and Renee MucinoMartinez both of Grand Junction, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, and brother, Sidney Martinez. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Fruita Assembly of God, 108 S. Peach St., Fruita, CO 1521 at 11:00 a.m., with burial following at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
