MARTIN A. QUICK
Funeral services were held at the Eagle Methodist Church on April 6 for Martin A. Quick, well j known Eagle County man. Mr. Quick died at Porter Hospital in Denver April 2, after suffering a stroke March 7. Mr. Quick, 78 years of age, had not been ill, and the sudden collapse was a shock to his family and friends. Rev. Byron Hasstedt officiated at the services, and Bowman Mortuary of Eagle, was funeral director. Mrs. Jane Long, soloist accompanied by Mrs. Lola Cham - bers, organist, sang “Beyond the Sunset,” and “Rock of Ages.” Pallbearers were Melvin, Dennie and Charles Eaton, Hans Larsen, Ralph Belding and Alvin Rule. Honorary pallbearers were Bert Wtolverton, W. M. Wilson, Allen Clark, Will Randall, A. B. Koonce, Jim Brett, Chester Mayer, Martin Eichler. Mr. Quick was bom in Fountain, Colorado, June 13, 1877, and lived his entire life in Colorado. As a boy he lived at White Pine, in Gunnison county, and at Fountain. As a young man, lie traveled over Western Colorado with a team of horses and wagon. Some of his time was spent around Eagle, abound 1901. On May 17, 1905, he married Edna L. Chambers at Fountain, and the couple lived in Colorado Springs for a few years. In 1913 Mr. Quick brought his wife and two children to Eagle County, settling at Avon where he farmed until 1918, then moved to Edwards, farming there until 1929. In 1930 the family moved to Eagle and in 1935 Mr. Quick gave up farming because of his wife’s health. Mrs. Quick died at Eagle Nov. 29, 1951. In 1952, Mr. Quick moved to Littleton to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. A; J. Gardner I and her family. j Surviving Mr. Quick are his five children, Earle C., of Holden. Wash.; James W. of Los Anodes; Harold M. of Chester, Mont.; Carolyn S. Gardner of Littleton;' Dorothy P. Rowland, i Englewpod - two sisters, Mrs. Louise Gordanier of Pueblo and Mrs. Edith Tulley, Pueblo; and I one brother, Fred Quick of Colorado Springs. Ten grandchildIren and one great-grandchild also survive.

Martin A. Quick, well known Eagle County man, died in Denver April 2, following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Quick moved from Eagle a few years ago, to make his home in Denver near his daughters. He became ill about a month ago, and was taken to a Denver hospital. Funeral services are being held at the Eagle Methodist Church Friday afternoon and burial will be in Sunset View cemetery here. Arrangements are under direction of Bowman Mortuary
