S.H. SHANNON
Silas Harve Shannon was born November 12, 1884 in Lampassa, Texas and passed away in Llano Texas May 15, 1966.

He married Rachel Ellen Cox at New Albany, Kansas May 27, 1906 and the couple came to Colorado in a covered wagon in 1911.

Mr. Shannon drove a stage coach from Wolcott to State Bridge in 1913 and 1914 and was manager of the Noonan Ranch near Kremmling until 1918 when he became manager of the Trenchera Ranch. In 1937 he bought a ranch near Edwards, moving there with his family until retirement in 1959. It was here that his wife died.

Mr. Shannon was married to Grace Peircefield of Edwards August 17, 1951 in Raton, New Mexico. In 1959 they moved to Llano, Texas, visiting their former home in summers.

Mr. Shannon was preceded in death by an infant and his son Harvey William. He is survived by three daughters: Nannalee Whidden, Gilman; Bobby Peterson, Edwards; and Ellen Ross of Alamosa; two grandsons, Buel Shannon Ross and David Lee Peterson and two great-grandchildren.

Harve Shannon, former Edwards rancher, died in Bluffton, Texas May 15 at the age of 81.

The funeral service was held at the Masonic Temple in Eagle May 19 and burial was in the family cemetery at Edwards.

He was the father of Mrs. Nan Whidden of Gilman and Mrs. Bobbie Peterson of Edwards. A third daughter, Mrs. Ross lives in Alamosa.
