Gary Francis Sheilds, 64, was born in Denver, Colo., to Darrell Francis and and Ella Florence (Bennett) Shields. He passed asay at Glen Valley Care Center on Jan. 27, 2006

Gary worked for many years as a carpener and general contractor. He had been an area resident for 36 years. He married Patricia K . Bernhardt in 1962 and she prededed him in death in 1999, after 37years of marriage. They had three chidren.

He served in the US Navy for four years. He is survived by his son, Darrell Francis (Erica) Shields; his two daughters, Yvonne L Shields and Diane R (Mike) Renteria; hid brother Elwood . (Joanne) Shields; his two sisters, Susan A. (Dale) Craig and Ramona Lawerence, and 12 grandchildren and4 great grandchildren. Pastor Don Marxhausen will officiate at Cedar Hill, Gypsum internment.
