With grateful hearts for the life he shared with us, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Jerrold "Jerry" Rose is survived by Jean, his wife of 58 years; sister, Donna Dill of Hastings, NE; brothers, Larry Rose of Baton Rouge, LA, and Dick Rose of Harlingen, TX; daughters, Christine Clark of Shelley, ID; Cheri Vana of Grand Junction, CO, and Lesley Rose-Hunt of Punta Gorda, FL; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Jerry was born in Hastings, Nebraska, and spent his childhood years on a farm in Juniata, Nebraska. He attended Hastings College, where he competed and excelled in long-distance running. After graduating with a degree in Mathematics, he taught and coached in Evergreen, Colorado. With the desire to have a greater impact on more students, he obtained a principal license and continued to serve as a high school principal for the next 25 years. He ended his career as the Grand Junction High School Principal from 1985-1993. Jerry was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He took great joy in supporting his daughters’athletic and educational endeavors. Jerry never missed one of his girls’events. He was their ultimate fan. As a school principal he always put students first. He was a champion for all kids! Jerry and Jean spent their free time traveling and visiting family. They always packed their golf clubs and explored courses around the country on their travels.
