Former Gypsum postmaster Henry Shroeder died Thursday, Dec. 4 in Aurora. He was 87. Services were Dec. 8 in Aurora. He was interred at Hampden Memorial Gardens.

Shrouder was born Nov 2, 1919 in Philadelphia, Penn. He married Ruby Clark on March 8, 1936 in Casper, Wyo. He served in both the US Navy and Army. In the Army he rose to the rank of staff sergeant. He served in World War II and participated in the European campaign following the Normandy invasion. He earned two purple hearts and a bronze star.

He is survived by his wife Ruby of Aurora: his son Jack f Parker and grandson Craig Schroeder of Parker; a granddaughter Sheri Tatug of Lone Tree.
