WALTER SHRYACK DIES IN HAINES, OREGON
ONE OF THE EARLY DAY RANCHERS OF BRUSH CREEK PASSES AWAY
Through the courtesy of Byron Zartman, we learn this week of the death of W.W. Shryack, for many years a farmer on Brush creek. The Shryack family owned the ranch now owned by Gordon Whittaker and left here in the early twenties. Walter was one of the older boys of the family. He had been a resident of Haines since 1937.
Mr. Shryack was born in Abbyville, Kan, May 9, 1889, from where his family came to Eagle county. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Orpha Shryack: a son Jack of the US Army, a daughter Miss Frances Shryack of Baker, Ore.; his mother Alice Stechen of Genoa, Colo. a brother Jesse E. Shryack of Ft. Collins, Colo., three sisters, Mrs. Dora Winters of Genoa, Colo.; Mrs. Jesse Garrison of Haine, Ore., and Mrs. C.K. Keller of Louviers, Colo
