Cherie Lynn (Erskine) VanPortfliet, 79, of Greeley, CO passed away peacefully on September 2, 2018. She was born on November 22, 1938 to Sophie (Gauthier) Emerson, originally from France. Cherie’s adoptive father was Harry "Bud" Erskine Jr. of Grand Junction. Cherie married Ronald McIntire on November 2, 1957, in Grand Junction. Together, they had three sons, Mark (Robin) McIntire of Greeley, Gregory (Stephanie) McIntire of Gunnison, and Stephen (Orinda) McIntire of Greeley. Her second marriage was to Donald VanPortfliet on September 27, 1977 in Denver. Together, they blended their families to include Kurt VanPortfliet (Ann) of Parker and Jana Patrei of Denver. She is survived by her brother, Ralph (Mary Anne) Erskine of Grand Junction; five children; nine grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald VanPortfliet. Services will be held in Greeley on Friday, September 7, at St. Mary Catholic Church, starting with the Holy Rosary at 11:00 a.m. and Mass at 11:30 a.m., followed by burial at Linn Grove Cemetery.
