SUDDEN DEATH TAKES BOBBY WEBB

Five-year-old Bobby Webb son of Mr and Mrs Donald Webb of Gilman died early Wednesday morning in the arms of his mother while his father and a doctor raced against time, on a flying trip out of the Holy Cross mountain area, to the Gilman Hospital. The Webbs with a party of friends were on a camping trip near Holy Cross, when the child became suddenly ill Tuesday evening. In the party was Dr. Howard Crawford formerly of Gilman, who kept close watch over the boy throughout the night, Bobby's condition first became apparent, when his parents noticed his difficulty in breathing, after putting him in his sleeping bag in their cabin, early in the evening. The parents land the doctor sat at the lad’s bedside throughout the night, and when as his condition didn't improve, started for Gilman about 5 o’clock Wednesday morning. The child died a little after 7 before the frantic party reached the hospital. An autopsy performed by Dr. B E Nutting in Glenwood indicated the boy had died of an aculte allergy, presumably brought on by use of an insect repellent, which had been used by the other members of the party, with no bad results. Bobby is survived by a twin sister, Donna Esther. The two youngsters would have celebrated their sixth birthday Sept. 7, and started to school in Gilman this fall. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mrs Dolly Webb of Eagle, two aunts, Dolly Elliott of Red Cliff and Hazel Black of Oak River, Manitoba, Canada: and two uncles Alvin Webb of Leadville and Basil Greenaway of Oak River. The funeral will be in the Eagle Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock and burial will be in the Webb family plot in Eagle. Burdge Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.
