Services for George C. Smith, 81, retired railroad engineer and resident of Basalt were je;d Tjirsdau at Steward Mortuary in Salida. Burial was in Salida. Mr Smith died December 28,at his Basalt home following a heart attack. He was born November 28, 1915 at Denver and spent his chidhood in Red Cliff. He was married in Littleton on November 3, 1915 to Caroline A Frey, who survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Morrissey, Crol Smith and Daisy B. Smith all of Denver.
