An early day Forest Ranger i Eagle County, Robert Thomas Sobey, died recently in a Lakewood nursing home, following a bladder opertation.
Mrs Sobey was born near Sidila Sept 24, 1874 and attended school in Elbert county and Central Business College of Denver. His father, Frank, was a Civil War veteran and the first typesetter at the Rocky Mountain News in Denver.
From 1914 to 1919 Mr. Sobey was a Forest Ranger on the Holy Cross Forest District (now part of White River Disrict) living in Red Cliff. Later he was the super intendent for the Fleming Lumber Companyand in 1924 moved to Littleton. In later years, he took up forestry work again and was an agronamist with soil conservation service in Arvada.
Mrs. Sobey passed away in 1957. Surviving are four children: Mrs RA Cecile Curtis of Littleton Co, Frank of Herlon, Calif, and Duane M. of Denver. Robert Emmett died in 1937.
