Nick DiGesualdo March 31, 1932 - April 22, 2018
Nick DiGesualdo passed away peacefully in his home on April 22, 2018, at the age of 86. He was born March 31, 1932, to Nick and Mary DiGesualdo in Frederick, Colorado. He married Lucille Edwards in Las Vegas, NV, on January 3, 1953. They were married until her death on July 4, 2008. He served in the Korean War. Nick worked in the Communications Department on the D&RG Railroad for 35 years, in which he and Lucille traveled with the line gang, before accepting a Communication Supervisor position in Glenwood Springs and settled in Silt. They had three children, Tracy DiGesualdo, Steven DiGesualdo, and Patricia Sinclair. Nick’s life-long love was Trap Shooting, in which he still won competitions in his class up until his last few months when he could no longer hold up a gun. After retiring, he wintered in Southern Arizona, traveling from Trap Club to Trap Club, competing in the sport. He also loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his three children; six grandchildren, Tayler (Shane) Fitzgerald, Derek (Daniella) Williams, Daniele (Ben) Gifford, Devyn (Kyle) Davis, Dillon Sinclair, and Sean Sinclair; great-grandson, Aiden Gifford; brothers, Tom (Gloria) DiGesualdo, and Bob (Hazel) DiGesualdo; numerous nieces and nephews; and his furry companion, Gus, all of whom he loved with all of his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell DiGesualdo; sister, Lucille DiGiallanardo; and son-in-law, Lane Sinclair. There will be viewing from 5 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. A funeral service will be May 3 at 11:00 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with a military burial to follow at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to invite you for a Celebration of Life Reception at Canyon View Park after the burial.
