HARRY A. SPURR

Harry A . Spurr died at the Empire Zinc hospital in Gilman, Colo ., September 13 , 1938 , at the age en * 53 years , 11 months and 13 days , of heart disease . He was bornSeptember 30 , 1881, at Taylor Hill , in Eagle county , Colorado , He bad lived at Gilman for twenty two years and had worked as a miner for the Empire Zinc Co. most of that time . He leaves to mourn his passing one brother, W . C . Spurr of Gilman; two nieces , Helen Spurr, and Mrs . John Knight of Denver , Colo . ; and an aunt , Mrs . Ida Carey , a cousin , Charley Carey , both of Marble , Colo ,, together with a great many friends. Funeral servicees were held from the Presbyterian church ii > Red Cliff Eri day afternoon at 2 : 30 o clock , Rev . Jas . Maclnncss , pastor of the church delivering the funeral discourse . The remains of the deceased wen . laid to rest in the Red Cliff cemetery . Mortician Paul Andre of Eagle , having charge of the burial services . _ o ¦—

Harry Spur , one of the pioneer miners of Battle Mountain , died at the Empire Zinc hospital in Oilman ii . esdoy afternoon , after a very short illness , caused by a blood clot in the heart . The deceased was of a family of miners , and if we are not mistaken , was born in this county, some fifty odd years ago, near Mitchell or Pando . The family returned to Gilman over twenty-years ago, where they have since resided . Funeral services will be held at Red Cliff this , Friday, afternoon.
