Mom was born in Pulaski, Ilinois, the oldest of nine children. After graduation she moved to Chicago, Illinois working in bookeeping. She met Dad and got married. She followed Dad around the next few years, during WWII and the Korean War, finally settling in Denver, Colorado. They adopted three children and fostered a little girl. After her children were raised, she went back to college and obtained her nursing degree. As a registered nurse she worked at all of the Denver area hospitals, her favorites were Potter and St. Joseph Hospitals. When Dad retired they moved to Grand Junction, where they settled for the nex 30 years. Mom volunteered at Marallic for ten years, teaching student nurses from Mesa College. She is survived by her sons, Greg and Mike, and grandchildren, Shanna, Danny and Mike Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband in March of this year, and her daughter, Debbie. They missed their 75 wedding aniversary by five months. Services will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Palisade. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palisade Funeral Home.
