A memorial servicee for Hugh Eugene "Gene" Stewart, long time resident of Eagle and Gypsum, will be held Saturday, May 28 at St Mary Catholic Church, Eagle. Mr Stewart died Monday May 23 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Denver, at the age of 71. He was born July 18, 1916 in Denver, and grew up in in the community of Brush. After attending school he enlisted in the Army. During World War II, Mr. Stewart served as supply sergeant at Camp Hale in Eagle County,

Surviving are a daughter, Karen S. Christo of Colorado Springs, two sons, Keith of Eagle and Kevin of Phoenix. AZ., a sister Hazel Becker of Denver, a brother, Harry Stewart of Denver.
