Berta Mae Stout, 49, a resident of Eagle - Gypsum since 1963 died at Valley View Hospital on Saturday, April 19, after a sudden illness. Bertha was born the daughter of Robert and Roena Funderburgh Cunningham at Sayer, Okla., on July 29, 1933. Grew up there, graduating from Sayer High School and later Draughn's School of Business in Oklahoma City. She married Dale Stout in Sayer on December 9, 1963. Then came back to Gypsum working as a bookkeeper for Kaibab Industries. After 16 years there she started working at the Eagle Valley Enterprise.
Survivors include Dale from Gypsum, Donna Jenett from Salt Lake City, Utah, mother Roena Cunningham from Sayer, Okla., a brother Robert Cunningham from Perryton, Texas and sister Virginia Evans of Pascagoula, Miss. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
