SLIM STROUSE DIED AT NUCLA SATURDAY

Funeral services were held In Eagle Tuesday for W. O. ‘ Slim” S’.rouse, who died Nov. 2 at Nucla. Colorado. Although Mr. St rouse had been In poor health for the past several months, his death was sudden and unexpected. He liad been confined .to Veterans Hospital for 14 weeks, during the summer and fall and was due to return for further treatment. Mr S', rouse had been at his home here, and left Oct. 18 to Join his wife who teaches school at Nucla. He became ill there, presumably with flu. William Gregor St rouse was bom February 19, 1902 at New Castle to Hubert and Mary Strouse. one of seven children. He grew to manhood around New Castle, working on ranches and with cattle companies In the Divide Creek. Coffee Pot and Plney regions until he entered the service of his country In 1942 After his service discharge, Mr. Strouse returned here working with cattle. In 1945 he married Imogene Price and moved with his wife and .three step-children to Eagle He continued working for the Gypsum cattle pool, almost until the .time of his death. Mr Strouse Is survived by his wife, Imogene: stepson, Bruce Price of Eagle; two step daughters, Linda Price of Eagle and Thyra Tipton of Aztec. N. Mex. One brother, Roy of Bloomington, Calif, and a sister, May Raley of Inglewood. Calif, also survive. A niece, Mrs Cecil Carpenter and husband came from Silt for the funeral. The Reverend Byron Hasstedit conducted funeral services at the Eagle Methodist church Nov. 5. The American. Lglon had military graveside service In Sunset View cemetery in Eagle. Pallbearers were Warren, Neal and Karma Black, Robert O'.esen, Robert Mclveen, and Roy Mosher. Honorary pall bearers were Leonard Horn, John Clark. Bryan Cock. Kenneth Gerard, Will Schumm and Tom Mcßreen
