DEATH OF JERRY SULLIVAN .

Pneumonia Claims Respected Cltlzen Of Eagle—Was In Employ of Rio Grande Railroad For 33 Yesre . The death of Jerry Sullivan came as a shock to this community , where ha had lived and been respected for seventeen years . He had been sick but a week and had been taken to the Rio Grande hospital In Salida a few lavs before his death , which occurred last . Friday , August 12 . Born in Monee , Cork County , Ireland . November 20 . 1784 , he migrated to the United States about 38 years ago , while still a young man . He first went to Detroit , Mich ., and a few years later came west to Colorado , where he first entered the service ot the Denver & Rio Grande railroad April 21 , 1894 . Twenty-nine years of that 33 years ot servLo for one employer had been spent in Eagle county . Fo r seven years he was at Red Cliff , when he was transferred to Gypsum . After Ave years as foreman of track maintenance at the latter place , he was sent to Eagle , where he remained until the day of his death . Mr . Sullivan was marrlei to Miss Nora Sexton , in the St . To this marriage were born three children , who survlv . s their father and mother—Misses Nora and Nellie Sullivan and Patrick Sullivan —all of whom now live In Eagle . Mrs . ISuIMvan preceded her hiu-fband in death about two years ago . The funeral services were held In Glenwood Springs Monday , August 15 , conducted by Father J . P . Carrlgan , of the Catholic church , of which the deceased was a devout member all hi « Pf Tho bdy was laid to rest b side that of his beloved wife , in the Glenwood cemetery . Besides the three children , of the near relatives , Mr . Sullivan Is survived by two sisters , one of Wfc m still lives in Ireland and the other in this country : four brothers , one cf whom Is a ( itizen of the United States , one living in Australia , and the other two In the old < -untrv . Jerry Sullivan was a kind and considerate husband and father , a loyal citizen of his adopted country and town , a faithful employee cf tbe railraod for which he spent the best part of his life , and the universe has lost a splendid citizen in the passing ol is good man .
