SINA ULIN VICTIM OF ROBBERY

Sina Ulin, former Gypsum lady, is in Denver Genera! Hospital, suffering from a broken hip, bruises and shock following an attack at her home in Denver last week. Mrs. Ulin was kidnapped from her home robbed of $lOO. beaten and thrown into a gravel pit, bythree unidentified men. Twelve hours later she was found by two small boys. Her condition was reported to be serious. Mrs Ulin and her late husband August, ran the Gypsum Hotel for several years. She left Gypsum about 20 years ago.

Sina Ulin was born in Norbitten, Sweden, October 7, 1879. She came from Sweden to Gypsum in 1902, and in March 1904 married August Ulin. Two children, Emil and Minnie were born to ths union.

Mr. and Mrs. Ulin owned and operated the the Traveler Hotel and Restaurant in Gypsum until his death in 1929. Mrs. Ulin continued the hotel operation until 1935. From 1937 to 1939 she managed the Leadville Hotel and Apartments on Harrison Avenue in Leadville. Mrs. Ulin passed away Feb 9, 1965 at Pueblo, prededed in death by her son Emil in 1910 and her husband.

She is survived by her daugher, Mrs. Minnie Ulin Peterson,; three grandsons, Larry Godat, Donald and William Peterson of Golden; a granddaugher, Mrs Earl Longwell of Leadville; two great great-granddaughers and three great-grandsons.

Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Arnold Boehnke at Augustana Lutheran Church of Gypsum, February 15, 1965. internment in Cedar Hill, Gypsum.
