Kevin J. Shean February 20, 1955 - December 3, 2018
Kevin Joseph Shean, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018, at the age of 63. He was born February 20, 1955, in Clarendon Hills, IL, to William and Annarose (née Schofield) Shean. Kevin graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 1973, and left for the rockies to attend Regis University and graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver. He enjoyed skiing, golfing, spending time with family, and taking his black labs (all named after golf) to the river. He relocated to San Diego and loved his "retirement" career as a starter at Torrey Pines Golf Club, often showing up early to enjoy the sunrise. He was an active member and lector at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Kevin’s community was large and diverse. Always gregarious, with a chuckle in his voice, he will be sorely missed. He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Hindery Shean Amos of Seattle, WA, and Margaret "Megie" Annarose Shean of Santa Monica, CA; former wife, Margaret "Margie" Hindery Shean; siblings, John, William, Virginia, Catherine, Susan, James, and Mary; brother-in-law, Thomas, and many nieces, nephews, and their families. He was "Grandpa Tev" to granddaughter, Margaret "Molly" Un Amos and was anxiously awaiting the birth of his second grandchild in early January. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie "Mimi" McDonough (née Shean), and brother-in-law, Giuseppe Butera. A memorial service will be held in February at the Church of the Nativity in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
