n Edwin “Ed” Dean Chase, 88, Grand Junction, died Dec. 13, 2018, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center. Services will be at a later date. He was a building contractor. Survivors include his wife, Fern; two sons, Michael of Fruita and David of Grand Junction; three daughters, Marcia Sinclair of Michigan and Deborah Hunt and Linda Kasten, both of Grand Junction; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Edwin "Ed" Dean Chase March 26, 1930 - December 13, 2018
Edwin Dean Chase, 88, died December 13, 2018, at HopeWest from complications of a thoracic aneurysm. He was born March 26, 1930, to Raymond and Eva (Lattimer) Chase, joining sister, Lucille, near Lebanon, Kansas. There he spent his childhood, graduating from high school in 1948. He served in the Navy Seabees 1951-53. He married Fern Higgins in 1955. Together they had five children, Marcia (Ron) Sinclair, Michigan; Michael (Jill), Fruita; David (Lisa), Deborah Hunt, and Linda (Keith) Kasten all of Grand Junction. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucille, and beloved son-in-law, Scotty Hunt. Building was his main occupation. He was an active member of Northeast Christian Church. He was a 33rd degree Mason, past Grand High Priest of Knights Templar of Colorado and enjoyed being a Shriner, parading in a miniature Corvette for many years all over Western Colorado. Hobbies included cabinetry, stained glass, gardening and hunting. He and Fern enjoyed traveling many places together. A devoted husband and proud father, grandfather and greatgrandfather, he was well loved by them and many others. Services will be February 25, 2019, 10:00 a.m., Northeast Christian Church, Grand Junction, Colorado.
