Howard E. Rosenauer November 9, 1940 - December 8, 2018
Howard E. Rosenauer was born November 9, 1940, in Glendale, CA to Howard E. and Susanna (McRoberts) Rosenauer. He passed away December 8, 2018, in Grand Junction, CO. He was 78 years old. He was in the first graduating class of West Covina High School in West Covina, CA. After high school he joined the Army and then followed in his father’s footsteps to become a union electrician. He was a lifelong member of the IBEW. Howard worked in Valdez, Alaska on the pipeline in the 1970’sHe acquired a taste for fresh Salmon and could never eat the lower 48 salmon again. On December 12, 1971, he married Sharon (Wilson) Rosenauer. They met in the deserts of Southern California where they both raced dirt bikes. In 1975 the family moved to Loma, CO for three years. In 1978 they moved back to California knowing they would return to Colorado sometime in the future. The future was November, 1995. His love of anything with an engine led to opening the Car Barn in 1996. He operated it for 18 years. He loved talking to people. He never met a stranger. He teased everyone. He was fun to be around. His gruff exterior covered the many silent acts of charity freely given to many. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many and various callings. He leaves his wife, Sharon/Rosey; Brenda and Tamara from his first wife, Sandy; Alex and James from his second wife, Dianne; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Many thanks to Abode Hospice for their outstanding service to ensure Howard passed at home surrounded by family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial will be held in the early Spring.
