Eileen Gutierrez, 54, of Vail, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019, in Denver, Colorado. She was born December 5, 1964, in Leadville, Colorado, to Robert Joseph and Gloria Maria (Silva) Gutierrez.
Eileen graduated from Leadville High School and married Raymond Paul Barela in 1989. She loved dancing, living in Vail, the mountains, being outdoors, rock ‘n’ roll music, chocolate, flowers, and her cat, Layla. She was also an avid Broncos fan.
Eileen is survived by her husband Raymond of Minturn, Colorado; her parents of Grand Junction, Colorado; children Roberta Lopez and Steve Lopez of Vail; grandchildren Aaliyah and Shayla Navarro of Vail; brother Walter Gutierrez of Leadville; sisters Mary Ann (Rick) Gonzales, Sally (Alfred) Lopez and Serena (Ismael) Salgado and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at noon at the Cornerstone Church in Leadville, Colorado. A reception will follow the Celebration of Life at the Leadville Elks Lodge #236.
