The funeral service for Dennis Tafoya were held on June 25 at Assembly of God church in Minturn, which he helped build. Dennis died June 18 in Hawthorne, Calif., at 83, he was born in Penasco, New Mexico in 1895. He moved to Minturn in 1928 and worked at Empire Zinc n Gilman for 32 yeas.

The WWI veteran, was married to Benita Tafoya, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him were two sons, two daughters, one brother and a sister. He is survived by a son, Joe B. Tafoya of Hawthorne, Calf. his brother Bonifacio Tafoya, Midville, Utah; two sisters, Victoria Leyba from Brighton, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tafoya was interred at Riverview Cemetery of Minturn.
