Richard A. Tafoya, 50, passed away Jan. 6, 2004 at his home in Leadville. He was born on Aug. 5, 1953 in Leadville. His parents are Delfino and Emma (Lujan) Tafoya.
Richard grew up in Red Cliff and after graduating from high school, entered the US Navy. He served on the USS McCandles and received an honorable discharge in 1978.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Madrill) Tafoya of Leadville; daughters, Yolanda (Danny) Servantes and Erica Tafoya; a son, Lee Vasquez; a stepdaughter, Vivian (Mike) Gallegos; his parents, Delfino and Emma Tafoya; brothers , Orlando (Polly) Tafoya, Charlie Tafoya, Robert (Addie) Tafoya, Gerald (Christine) Tafoya, Jim (Francine) Tafoya, Jim (Francine) Tafoya, John (Sheila) Tafoya, grandchildren Alexander and Shayla Servantez and Alyssa Gallegos.

Graveside services on Jan. 9 at Ft Logan National in Denver.
