John A. (Buck) Galley, Jr. May 24, 1925 - December 22, 2018
John A. Galley, known by everyone as Buck, passed away peacefully at home on December 22, 2018. He was 93 years old. Buck was born on May 24, 1925 in Nucla, CO and was a lifetime rancher in Nucla other than the short time he spent in the Army during WWII. He enjoyed tending to his cattle and crops and watching his grandkids’ sporting events and rodeos. Buck served on various boards including the West End School Board, CC Ditch Board and Citizen’s State Bank Board. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and West End Livestock Association. Buck is survived by daughters, Jerri Hubbard of Grand Junction, Debbie (Clint) Wytulka of Nucla; son, Stan (Misty) Galley of Nucla; grandkids, Kevin, Jamie, Carlie, Tyler, Lantry, Locklyn, Loudyn; great-grandkids, Cody, Abby and Glen. Buck was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; parents, John and Margaret Galley; and sister, Helen Rogers. Graveside services will be held at the Nucla Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018. A meal will follow at the First Park Community Center.
