Eldon John White July 22, 1948 - October 24, 2018
Eldon John White, 70, passed peacefully with his family and loving wife, Susan, by his side, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at HopeWest Hospice Grand Junction, CO, following a lengthy battle with post-polio lung syndrome. Eldon is survived by his wife and best friend of 22 years, Susan Irene White; daughter, April husband, Will Ayers and sons, Rusty, wife Bridget; Brian, wife Heather; Nathan, wife Jennifer; brothers, Curt (Lorraine), and Gary; sisters, Carol (Garry Armstrong), Norma (Otis Darnell), and Karen (Ray Weist); 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and his two faithful companions (dogs), Rosie and Scruffy. Born in Fruita, CO, July 22, 1948, to John and Jean White, he was raised in the Plateau Valley area. The oldest of six siblings, he milked cows and helped out on the family farm. After high school he attended Mesa College and Western State College. He graduated with degrees in Music and History education. Eldon taught music in Eagle County and Nebraska. In 1976, he returned to western Colorado to teach music in Rifle until his retirement. After retiring, he advanced his education and became a Christian counselor. He married Naomi (Nick) Neff in 1969, and had three children. Later, in 1996, Eldon married Susan Stanton. Eldon was a great conversationalist who enjoyed many deep meaningful discussions with friends and family. He enjoyed all the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. He loved the Lord. He was a faithful servant, sharing the Gospel and giving unto others. Please join us in this celebration of life ceremony held this Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Canyon View Vineyard Church, 736 24 1/2 Road, Grand Junction.
