M Oravell McLean "Orv", 90, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, died at home November 4th, 2018. Born in Buffalo, NY on October 20, 1928, she was the second daughter to Joseph and Mildred (Claxton) Tobin. An intelligent women, she received her Master of Science degree in Education from the University of New York Buffalo in 1954. Always a champion of children, Orv followed her calling as an educator for most of her life. She was married to her husband of 58 years in July 1950. A dedicated mother of two, she loved her family dearly. She further opened her heart and home to numerous unwanted pets throughout her life and always put great value on animal welfare. Orv was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Parker, of Buffalo, NY. She is survived by her spouse, Ralph McLean; son, Andrew McLean of Columbus, Ohio, and daughter, Linda McLean of Grand Junction, Colorado. A service will be held Friday at the HopeWest Care Center chapel at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contribution can be made to HopeWest Hospice or the Humane Society of the U.S.
