Donald Lloyd Hunt 1952 - 2018
Donald Lloyd Hunt passed away on November 8, 2018. He was born in Cortez, Colorado in 1952. He graduated from Delta High School, and not long after, settled in Grand Junction. He spent several years there, later moving to The Retreat at Palisade, where he lived the remainder of his life. Donald loved his cat, Shadow. He talked about Shadow every day. He had one true love in his life, Debbie. They lived near each other for several years, and he missed her dearly when she passed away. Donald loved kids. He enjoyed visits from family, especially the kids. He bragged to all the staff about his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed helping with trick-or-treating with the kids that came to The Retreat. He was a die hard Broncos fan, and had several articles of memorabilia. Being very passionate about his Broncos, he wore his Broncos swag as often as possible. Donald had one of the kindest hearts. He was loved by anyone that knew him. He had an amazing sense of humor, and an infectious laugh. He always enjoyed a good joke. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Kenneth Hunt. He is survived by his siblings, Judi (Hunt) Whiteman; Beth (Hunt) Gorewitz, and Daryl Hunt. He also has several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held at Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita on November 14, 2018. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation, in Donald’s memory, to The Retreat at Palisade. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Palisade Funeral Home.
