Juanita Davis January 16, 1928 - November 19, 2018
Juanita Davis passed on November 19, 2018. She was 90 years old. Juanita Iris Mock Davis was born January 16, 1928, in a log cabin in DeBeque, Colorado. Her parents were James Curtis and Myrtle Mock who farmed in the DeBeque area. When Juanita was five, she moved to Leadville, CO. Juanita is survived by her sons, Kerry Davis (Debbie) and Charles Davis (Jaci); daughters, Janet Davis and Karen McAtlin (Curt); sister, Nadine; seven grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. While working at the Beanery restaurant in Grand Junction, she met her beloved husband, John. They were married on May 8, 1949, in Grand Junction, Colorado and were happily married for 65 years. After John passed away in 2014, with great support from her wonderful friends, family and neighbors, she continued to live alone at her home even though she was mostly blind from macular degeneration. Juanita led an active life and was involved in many church and sewing groups. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain family and friends, especially for the holidays. She was an amazing woman; always positive, strong willed, happy and had a great sense of humor. Juanita was loved by everyone she met.
