Marjorie C. Ellis June 16, 1953 - November 18, 2018
Marjorie C. Ellis, 65, of Grand Junction passed away surrounded by family in her home on November 18, 2018 after a battle with cancer. She was born on June 16, 1953, in Denver, Colorado to Wilda and Dave (deceased) Christopher. She grew up in Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction, graduating from Grand Junction High School in 1971. She graduated from University of Northern Colorado in 1975. Marjorie spent the majority of her career at Colorado Mountain College, Glenwood Springs, in a variety of positions. She retired as a curriculum specialist in 2015. After meeting in Grand Junction while working at Boise Cascade and moving to Glenwood Springs, Marjorie and Jim S. Ellis married in 1986. Together, Jim and Marjorie, enjoyed square dancing, riding motorcycles across the country, and taking Spanish lessons. The foundation of Marjorie’s life was her belief in God and her membership in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, actively participating for years in Glenwood Springs, Rifle, and Palisade. She was an accomplished seamstress and a talented decorator. From an early age, she enjoyed decorating and redecorating her space. Marjorie and Jim spent the last several years remodeling and redecorating their home in Grand Junction. Marjorie’s love of color and design transformed the house into a warm, welcoming home. Marjorie was also known for her compassionate heart and her love of all animals. Marjorie is survived by husband, Jim; mother, Wilda Christopher of Grand Junction; brother, Vernon (Sandy) Christopher of Grand Junction; sister, Jenni Christopher of Olympia, Washington; step-daughter, Adrienne (Damian) Hirst of Plano, Texas; step-daughter Jamie (Eric) Galyon of Broomfield, Colorado; five grandchildren; and two nieces. A memorial service is being held at Callahan-Edfast, 2515 Patterson Rd, on Friday, November 30th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marjorie’s name may be sent to HopeWest Hospice, 3090 N. 12th St #B, Grand Junction, CO 81506.

Marjorie Christopher Ellis, 65, Grand Junction, died Nov. 18, 2018, at her home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. She was a curriculum specialist. Survivors include her husband, Jim; two daughters, Jamie Galyon of Broomfield and Adrienne Hirst of Plano, Texas; her mother, Wilda Christopher of Grand Junction; one brother, Vernon Christopher of Grand Junction; one sister, Jenni Christopher of Olympia, Washington; and five grandchildren.
