Susan Marlene Thebold Anderson October 28, 1945 - November 7, 2019 Susan was born on October 28, 1945, at the old St. Mary’s at 11th and Colorado. She went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2019, after a lengthy Parkinson’s related illness that local doctors were unable to diagnose or treat. She married Jim Anderson on November 15, 1984. He survives. Susan spent most of her career as an insurance claims adjuster, specializing in roof damage because she was the only one willing to climb onto rooftops to assess damage. She lived in Utah, Oregon, California, Arizona, and her native Colorado. A natural entrepreneur, Susan also owned and operated an ice cream parlor in Tucson. Over the years, she also acquired rental property. While in Las Vegas, she worked for Treasure Island in their self-insurance pool, and then was hired by the newly opened Monte Carlo to run the casino’s loss-prevention department. In 2009, Susan retired and came home to Grand Junction. She was a school classroom volunteer through Foster Grandparents, helping at Pomona Elementary and Holy Family school. She was predeceased by her parents, Clyde and Alma Theobold, and brother, Noel Gerard “Jerry” Theobold. She is also survived by sister, Karen Youngreen of Salt Lake City, and brothers, Ronald (Velda) of Tucson, and Reford (Karen) of Grand Junction. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, at 10:30 a.m. as Cross Point Church, 2697 Highway 50 on Orchard Mesa.
