Jerry spent the first ten years or so of his life in their loving household learning to hunt and fish and the importance of a quality education. Jerry graduated from Tandy High School in Bay City, MI and attended General Motors Institute of Technology in Flint, MI for 2 years at the insistence of his Uncle Ben. Upon graduating Jerry enlisted in the Air Force, stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver. Jerry grew to be quite fond of the deer and had names for all of them. You often would hear a tap tap on the sliding glass door only to find one of his favorite bucks knocking on the door wanting a nibble of corn. Jerry also filled his days listening to bluegrass music, his love of bluegrass music triggered a hobby of playing banjo. He had a group of friends that would gather often to play.
