JAMES BALL: 1926-1987
James William Ball, 60, died in Porter Hospital in Denver on Saturday, July 11, 1987. Services, conducted by the Rev. Jack Pedotto, were held in the United Methodist Church in Oak Creek on Friday, July 17. Interment was in the Oak Creek Cemetery. Wallace Bell, accompanied on the organ by Thelma Moore, sang "Peace
in the Valley" and "Precious Lord, Take my Hand.” Pallbearers were Elmo and Thomas Goddard, Charles Craun, Louis Bruder, Larry Ball and Spiro Callas. Born in Adams Park on Oct. 24, 1926, James was the son of James A. and Mary DeJiacamo Ball. A carpenter by trade, he lived in Toponas until moving to Denver 30 years ago. He married Lois Mathews in Oak Creek on Oct. 17,
1953. She preceded him in death in 1981. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He leaves one son, Keith Ball of Denver; one daughter, Suzanne Swigart of Oak Creek; one brother, Donald P. Ball of Steamboat Springs; four sisters, Rosalie Goddard of Denver, Bertha Gray of Grand Junction, Shirley Craun of Westminster and Ruby Augistine of Reno, Nev.; and one grandchild.
