CHARLES ACORD JR: 1934 - 1987
Charles H. Acord Jr., 52, of Craig died on Tuesday, May 5, 1987 in the Clagett Memorial Hospital in Rifle.
Services, conducted by the Rev. Gary Neptune, were held in the First Congregational Church in Craig on Wednesday, May 6 at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Craig Cemetery.
Jill Varga, accompanied on the organ by Elaine DeuPree, sang These Hands, You'll Never Walk Alone, and God be With You Till we Meet Again.
Pallbearers were Wallace McLean, Dick King, Jerry Burneson, Gary Acord, Dave Bachman and Danny Fisher.
Born in Lander, Wyo. on Sept. 2, 1934, Charles was the son of Charles H. Acord Sr. and Virginia A Willits Acord. He was a 1954 graduate of the Laramie High School.
He married Virginia L. McCreary in Wheatland, Wyo. on Aug 8, 1954. He served in the US Army from 1957-1959. For 17 years he was a master mechanic for Brasel and Sims of Lander and for two years, mechanic and welder for Power Equipment Co.
He came to Craig from Belgrade, Mont. 12 years ago.
He leaves his widow; his parents of Lander; one son, Chet Acord of Craig; one daughter, Syndi McLean of Craig; two brothers, Gary Acord of Craig and William Acord of Lander; one sister, Patricia Carroll of Lander; and four grandchildren.
