Catherine Louise Pixler, 77,
died peacefully at HopeWest
Care Center on February 20,
2020.
Catherine was born on
February 15, 1943, to Joseph
and Margaret Dalley, in Fruita.
Catherine’s family homesteaded
in Fruita and built and operated
the Park Hotel.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Dick Pixler; children,
Robin (Dan) O’Connor, Misty Dittebrand, Peggy Griffith, David
(Molly) Pixler, and Stacy (Don) Pinnt; siblings, James Dalley,
Virginia (Ginger) Womack, Myrna McGranahan, Rodney Dalley
and Patricia (Tishie) Munoz; ten grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren, and other extended family.
Catherine worked as a cook at Shelledy Elementary. She enjoyed
helping children who came through the lunch line. She loved
cooking, baking and canning. Catherine really enjoyed fishing and
trips to Mesquite. Some of her last conversations were about going
fishing.
Catherine was a very giving person and she touched the heart of
everyone she met. We would like to extend our thanks to the staff
at Larchwood and HopeWest for their caring and loving support.
Respecting her wishes, there will be no official service, but an
Open House Celebration of Life from 1:30 - 3:30 Sunday, March 1,
at the Fruita Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations to HopeWest Care Center.
