Eagle Valley Enterprise page 1 - June 21, 1962

Mrs. Pearl A. Thomas, 81, of Eagle, died at Teller Arms Nursing home in Grand Junction Saturday June 16. 1962. Mrs. Thomas had evening. Mrs. Thomas, who had gone to the lower country to spend the winter with her children and suffered a stroke in January in the home of her son, Dr. Woodrow Brown in Hotchkiss.
Mrs. Thomas' was a resident of Eagle for 62 yeans. Born Pearl A. Personett, July 13, ISSO at Chapin, lowa, she moved as a young woman to Aspen then moved to Eagle in 1900. She was married to Frank Fox and George Brown, each of whom preceded her in death. She was married at Eagle in 1922 to Jesse Thomas, who died in New Mexico in 1954.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Eagle Methodist Church and the Women’s' Society of Christian Service.
Survivors are two sons: Marion Fox of Grand Junction and Woodrow Brown of Hotchkiss; one daughter, Mrs. Don (Ruth) Potts of Grand Junction: three brothers and a sister; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Mable and Pearl Fox preceded their mother in death.
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend H. C Moorhead in the Eagle Methodist Church June 18, 1962, and burial was in Sunset View Cemetery.
Pall Bearers were Ralph Belding, Harold Koonce, Don Knupp, Nate Potts, Joe Allen and Gene Luby. Mrs. Don Price was organist and Mrs. Harry Long soloist.
