Jerry died at St. Mary’s
Hospital from COVID-19, he
was 82 years old.
Jerry and his twin brother, Jim,
were born in Topeka, Kansas, to
Edgar C. and Margaret Krueger
Eisenhauer. The Eisenhauer
family lived in Topeka; later
Wichita, KS; Pueblo, CO; moved
to Golden, CO in 1943, and moved to Grand Junction in 1951.
He graduated from GJHS, class of 1957. He was a member of the
Army Reserves from 1957-1959. Jerry attended Mesa Jr. College
and was a 1963 graduate of Western State College, B.S.B.A. While
at Western State College, he was the Business Manager for the
school newspaper, “Top O’ The World.”
He worked in the family business, Ed Eisenhauer Motor Co., from
1963-1972 then in 1972, opened Mesa Mazda. He then acquired
Subaru in 1974.
In September 1965, Jerry earned his Single Engine pilot license.
He married Norma Jean Neilson in 1973, they divorced in 1983.
The family acquired ownership of Courtesy Chrysler Plymouth
in 1979 and the name was changed to Mesa Mazda Subaru Chrysler
Plymouth. During 1981, they acquired the Dodge and Dodge Truck
franchise, which became known as Mesa Automotive Plaza. The
family sold Mesa Automotive Plaza to Western Slope Auto in 1989.
Jerry then invested into Service Master Lawn Care and later,
LRK Lawn Care. In 1992, he sold Service Master and LRK to WD
Yards and worked for them for 11 fun years, retiring in 2003.
Jerry’s wishes were that no services be held. Plans are to host a
Celebration of Life later in the year, health permitting.
Jerry is survived by his twin brother, Jim; nephew, Mark David
Eisenhauer, and niece, Lori Ann Eisenhauer.
