Stephen Eugene Reed was
born November 5, 1945, in
Denver, Colorado, to Donald
Eugene Reed and Norma Louise
Ridley Reed. He served in the
United States Navy during The
Vietnam War. Following his
tour of duty, Steve spent his time
as a contractor/carpenter and
was known by many as a man who could fix or build anything.
Steve had many hobbies throughout his life, especially during
his retirement. His love for woodworking, crafting, motorcycles,
playing slot machines with his wife Peg, and spending time working
on his truck with his dog, Savana, all played a major role in his
daily activities. He will be remembered by many and forgotten by
few. Steve made an impression on everyone he met and he will be
dearly and eternally missed by those who loved him.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Edward
Reed. He is survived by his wife, Peg; daughter, Sara Ann; sons,
Steve Reed Jr., and Michael Reed (Lisa); grandchildren, Jesse and
Janelle Reed, and Ava and Aspen Carpenter, and siblings, Ronald
Reed, Norton Reed, and Ellen Reed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021, from 7:30 -
9:00 p.m. in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church parish hall, 230 N.
Third Street in Grand Junction, Colorado. Parking and entry into
hall is on the northeast side of the building. Funeral Mass will be
Tuesday, March 2, 2021, 8:30 a.m., also at St. Joseph’s Catholic
Church, main chapel.
Steve will be laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of
Western Colorado in Grand Junction.
